Cut the sausages into 3 inch pieces.
Heat olive oil in a heavy large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sausages and cook until brown on both sides.
Add sliced onion, garlic, salt, and pepper and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Add the chicken broth, diced tomatoes, oregano, cilantro, sausages, bay leaf and onions to crock pot. Cook for 4-6 hours.
